What’s on your Marketing Calendars?

A content marketing calendar is exactly what it sounds like:
A content plan that covers your marketing activities for an entire month or year.

Content marketing is not something you should take care of on-the-go. It is best to organize your content in the form of calendar.

Perhaps you own a small pizza shop and it’s September 5th, just another day, right? You think about posting some images on Instagram that offer a special price on your pepperoni pizzas. Great, right? Not really, because September 5th is National Pizza Day and you didn’t realize until the day was almost over. If you plan out your month or year in advance with a Marketing calendar, you won’t miss out on those amazing marketing opportunities.

I like to include popular #hashtags that can be used within the month, wherever space allows on my calendar.

The purpose of a social media calendar is to provide a framework for sharing content that resonates with your audience and also sells your business. It is a good idea to mix business with pleasure when it comes to social media. If your audience is always being “sold” something, they will lose interest in following you. Try keeping a good mix.

Before creating your calendar, plan content around specific campaigns and goals. First, determine the type of content that make sense for your business and audience.

They say the best times to post on social media is between 12pm and 3pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I think it is important when first starting out to keep track of your post times and days of the week, as well as, when you’re getting the most attention. Your followers might be different from the norm, depending on your business.

Take advantage of social media scheduling that Facebook has available and post as much as you can for the coming month(s).
